Ahh wife number 7 he doesnt belong to the Weapons division, he is "merely" a gardener. And so the cleansing of the sect begins LOL poor thousands upon thousands of ignorant elders and students slowly but surely *evil laugh*

vio • 2 years ago

lol@evil laugh
He peaked her interest without even realising it. She'll probably be shocked when she learns his nothing more than a gardener. How many episodes do you think they'll use to cover the cleansing?

Dase • 2 years ago

The cleansing comes in bits and pieces, the usual elder's favourite pet here and there, then the elder takes action then another relative of the elder etc lol
Overall it will take a while, lemmie go check the novel lol

vio • 2 years ago

lol no need, I was just curious. a rough estimate would have done :)

Dase • 2 years ago

lol it is fine, I am curious as well, ok we are currently at chapter 171 of the novel, and he truly cleanse the entire sect when he marries the 7 women at chapter 1194, so we looking at another 500 episodes :P, but having said that I would think about 400 episodes to get the sect to a reasonable state of cleanliness lol the bulk of which happens when he becomes the sect leader and eventually the overlord sect leader by killing off the other two powerful sects but he hands over the sect leadership back to the previous one (kind of previous but not exactly, long story lol) as he prepares to go to the next higher realm

During the time in between the chapters, a lot of things happen, it is towards his wedding that he also stamps out or reduce the power of other sects and empire within the Huangfu continent, then other continents starts to interfere (related to the two supremes that killed him 10,000 incarnates ago)

And oh, she doesnt find out it is him for the longest time since she was looking for him at the wrong division lol

vio • 2 years ago

according to mal, we only have 160 episodes this season so looks like its going to be a while.

Dase • 2 years ago

Yeah, I really hope next season they will make the episodes 25 minutes long, this will cover a lot of the chapters really quickly lol

Judging by the pace of the donghua, I would say the season will probably end right around when the sect holds a ranking competition to determine who will be eligible to attend another competition held between the three major sects

I cant wait until this part where he attends the competition between the three major sects, and then go into the forbidden area, Huangfu sect (the one he is in) is the weakest of the three and is usually bullied and their participation slots are usually very little compared with two to three thousand each from the other two but this time.... Tan Yun manages to get his sect about a thousand, and most of his sect members survives (usually they die), and only one of each from the other two manages to live lol but I guess this will be next season

vio • 2 years ago

Judging from other donghua's, they have always stayed with the same amount of time so I dont see it being extended to 25 minutes. It would be nice though if they did.

Dase • 2 years ago

*sad face* Seems only really popular author or novels gets 25 minutes episodes while little known authors gets 5-7 minutes

vio • 2 years ago

I would agree but even though there is a difference in the amount of time between the two I have noticed that the short episodes air twice a week and basically has the same run time as a long episode would when combined. The only one I'm not 100% sure about is Shen Yi Jiu Xiaojie. The reason for that is because most of the time it only feels like one episode per week while other weeks it feels like two episodes.

Unfortunately, due to the difference in the length of the episodes it ends up making the unpopular authors even less popular on a world scale as a lot of people are dismissive of the short episodes. Personally, it never really occurred to me that it was a problem with the popularity of the stories but more to do with the time slots available on the tv channels that air them. I also feel that there are better stories available than the likes of Fanren, Wanmei Shijie and wu geng ji but that is coming from someone who was raised outside of China so my opinion on that wouldn't really help on the results from within China.

Dase • 2 years ago

Shenyi Jiu Xiaojie during the first week streamed four episodes and thereafter it will stream two episodes per week, every Tuesday and Saturday (according to their Baidu page)

Yes it is true and sad that overseas viewers have little to say in the types of donghua the studio should produce, most of which is mainly based on the top novel sales, then followed by the popularity of the author (thank goodness we havent been subjected to the 6009 plus ongoing chapters novel yet Mr Gold will know which one I am talking about lol)

Even with Tencent, bilibili or Youku youtube channels, it doesnt really matter much since what they stream is based on what they are already streaming in China, even if they stream new releases at the same time

Maybe it is time to buy shares in those companies :) and be a majority shareholder and have a say in what gets produced or not

I also noticed that the translated novels tends to be 25 minutes, and the ones not translated tends to be 5-7 minutes, hmmm interesting discovery lol

vio • 2 years ago

to be honest, other countries shouldn't have a say in what is produced or done in another country's production or growth. That opens doors to more problems because of the difference in what is accepted. Its understandable games designers would probably do it because of better ratings and raking in more money. However, it would eventually move away from the initial creative idea and still potentially cause a divide in what is acceptable.

also, new episode of dragons disciple is up to watch.

Dase • 2 years ago

Very true, not to mention to cater to overseas influence it might also mean moving, transferring or starting an overseas branch or buying an existing studio to bypass Chinese censorship which will mean spending more money to do so

Ahh will watch that once I get home lol

vio • 2 years ago

I hope you'd also be wary of the taxes too. America for example has a screwed tax system as almost each state has their own levels of tax lol I've been considering starting a online business which is why I had to take a look at that. I can honestly see why people love hiding there money if they can but lets not go into that. lol

Dase • 2 years ago

Seems Wang Chao is more confident now lol
Interviews for an instructor position at a dojo
Undergoes a test to see if he qualifies
Beats the first guy who whimpers and cries saying he will be back
Beats a 6th Dan black belt (second guy)
Redhead woman: what martial arts did you perform?
Wang Chao: it is Tai Chi
People wondering eh?
Wang Chao: Tai Chi doesnt have any set stance or movement so it is quite fluid
People: OOOHHH that makes sense lol

Negotiates his salary, which he believes is too low and argues about compensating the dojo if he breaks the rules (makes a mistake)
and of course let's not forget a new onee-san (red head girl) is interested in him lol

vio • 2 years ago

lol when I saw that someone was typing thought I was getting a comment about the tax thing so I opened up a website to point it out. The red head lady sniffing around him was like a switch flipped in her and she's feeling extra warm today and wants a little fun time.

Dase • 2 years ago

lol, most readers probably wont comment on our threads after reading the first few posts

I guess it is how the studio keeps viewers interested in the series, more women in each episode and how he struggles with paying the upkeeping the villa lol (which was touched upon during episode 9)

vio • 2 years ago

I know some are reading them because of the upvotes and we do get the odd commenter here and there.

Dase • 2 years ago

I mean Trump barely paid taxes lol

A friend of mine did some online business, mainly buying goods from Japan and either shipping it directly from Japan or after receiving the goods in Australia, but sadly with Covid shipping expenses gone up, not the mention the shipping schedule makes it difficult for him to sell goods, he mainly bought anime figurines, Gatebox hologram companion (one that some Japanese man married) and limited edition Nintendo DS and PS consoles, then he stopped doing those since lithium batteries were considered a dangerous item (might explode during flight) and Fedex was expensive, he asked me about figurines from China, especially the second Medusa limited statue 30cm tall and Genshin Impact merchandise, I said no, need to preorder and shipping will be expensive, if you dont have connection to those merchandising stores or warehouse you have to pay full retail price, and that cuts into profit, besides Chinese merchandises are not well known, any niche market is hard to make profit

vio • 2 years ago

thats cos the rich know how to hide it well lol

Also, WTF @ Gatebox hologram companion marriage. I honestly wasnt sure about that because I was in two minds in regard to that product. Firstly, because it seemed like a scam. Secondly, I was always getting emails tempting me to go back to their site which reminded me of spam mail so put me off even more. At one point I was actually considering getting one because I thought it was cute and not something you'd see in my country. Not the western version... that thing was creepy and reminded me of the sims.
I like the Japanese anime version but £1.5k spent on something like that is just a waste of money especially when I could go out and buy something thats more needed. In regard to collectable figurines, they actually sell pretty well here. I dont think Chinese donghua versions would go well unless it became more popular in the west.

Dase • 2 years ago

Ahh, the Gatebox can be integrated into modern housing, kind of like Siri on iphone, can tell it (her actually lol) to adjust the lighting, room temperature, make coffee etc
Yes, someone actually married a Gatebox companion lol, I guess it would appeal to a lot of hikikomori (socially withdrawn person) same as someone who actually married a Nintendo DS Love Plus character, funny enough I once asked a Japanese friend why? She said Japanese girlfriends are expensive, I was like eh?? Not only that, the fear of breaking up and being rejected really hurts the male chauvinistic culture, again I was like EHHHH? since when has men become so emotionally weak?

vio • 2 years ago

It's not just Japan with the craziness lol. I just did a google search to see if a man married his hand.... One of the results was "Man marries his SMARTPHONE @ las vegas". lol
I cant comment on the women being expensive... I'll put that down to cultural integration. As for men becoming more weak, I can only blame society and their rules that has led some parents to be scared of punishing their children because of fears such as being reported for child abuse.

Dase • 2 years ago

While I dont condone abusive parents, I grew up with parents using a bamboo cane, and I am mentally sound and physically well (believe me my job requires both in order to handle people and take care of them) I grew up none the worse, then again I was well behaved :) and I was taught very early that rules are meant to be followed otherwise there will be trouble and people gets hurt, not that I will subject any children I might have with a cane, just no toys no sweets, no anime and lot's of audio books on how to behave lol but yeah times changed

vio • 2 years ago

mentally sound... doing 18 hour shifts.... hmm... just kidding lol

Seriously though, abusive parents and physical discipline are pretty much two different things but some cant separate the two. I'm not sure if its the same with other countries but in mine, they have given to much power to teachers to report parents. One example of that is if you send a child to bed without dinner as punishment and they hear of it they can report you for that. I was spoilt as a child and got away with a lot, even to the point that I caused mental anguish for one of my neighbours by burying myself up to my neck in their garden scaring the crap out of them when they finally came out and saw me. I skipped several dinners back then due to my antics and I can only remember 3 times I was actually hit which was mostly deserved. Over time it taught me to follow the rules too and to never over step my bounds on certain instances.

Dase • 2 years ago

lol I dont do 18 hours shift all the time, maybe a couple of times a year

I see... you had... an interesting childhood, burying yourself in the ground?? lol

My most outrageous childhood incident was when I followed friends in collecting spray can in order to obtain marbles or ball bearings inside, the guys let me open one after I complained about wanting to open one, I was given a red paint spray can, so I took the chisel and hammer, and gave it a good whack, little did we know, the can wasnt empty and my entire face and body was sprayed with paint, I was quickly taken back, we lived in flats and my mother was visiting a friend (my friends' parents were also visiting) suffice to say my mother and a few aunties fainted when they saw me, covered with red paint, they thought it was blood and I was bleeding from my head LOL we were all grounded after being smacked lol

vio • 2 years ago

lmfao. Have you seen the film carrie? that image reminded me of that. It was about a girl who went psycho after being bullied and went on a killing spree.

As for the burying thing, I just enjoyed freaking people out back then because it was to amusing. Also, it wasn't fully as my head was still above ground so I was able to breath. I mean how do you think some women would react to that if they were walking in the park and saw nothing but a head on the ground with a bit of fake vampire blood drooling from the side of its mouth and the eyes were starring off in space while not blinking until they looked away. Then when they looked back, giving a little scream before asking where is the rest of my body. I was going to ask how would you handle it but I'm guessing that with your profession you'd probably handle it pretty well lol

Dase • 2 years ago

lol, I can imagine the panic people would have after seeing just your head, did you do it during Halloween, now that would have gotten a lot of attention lol

Wasnt easy at first, in fact during my studies, I vomited the first time when I saw cadavers, the smell especially got to me, I can still remember the smell to this day as well as the chills

vio • 2 years ago

I dont remember what time of year it was, I only remember that there was daylight when it happened. I dont envy your line of work but I hope its something you enjoy doing.

Dase • 2 years ago

The work, not really, but the result of the work, yes :)

vio • 2 years ago

Good outcomes for patients is always good, as is providing good care. My sister does nursing so I have seen how much of a toll it can take sometimes and that for some it can be very difficult to separate their emotion from the patients in their care. I'm not sure if she has found the perfect balance yet but I hope so.

Dase • 2 years ago

Yes it can be very difficult especially for nurses as they are pretty much the frontline of the hospital, even more so during this pandemic, some nurses I know have to seek counseling, others move to different fields such as podiatry where no one really dies from taking care of people with foot problems, but the best is being a nurse anesthetist, just one jab, patient zonked out, and off you go, without worry about the patient, well as long as you apply the right amount of dosage lol
But whatever field they are in, it can be stressful since there are all types of patients and some of them cant be reasoned with easily (anti vaxxers) I heard a nurse had to move a man who is dying with cancer to make room for someone that isnt vaccinated. and wasnt in any life threatening status, he had a broken arm or something like that and that nurse really wanted to quit his job, it is never easy, we are all human, and it can be hard to detach emotionally
A way to find our balance is like comparing emotions is with a bank account, when we encounter negative emotions, the account decreases, and will hit overdraft if it continues, so to fix that, put more positive emotions into the account, doing things that we like that makes us happy, positive things, this allows an emotional buffer to grow like a cushion for when that negative emotion punches through. My counsellor told me that, nice and simple lol

vio • 2 years ago

It's a good analogy of how to handle stressful situations but for me personally I'm not a fan of counsellor's as I prefer compartmentalising and dealing with any issues I have myself. Not only that, when you air your problems to them, its like you are giving them the right to judge you and paying them for it unless it is a requirement for your job in which case its already covered. Admittingly, some people prefer to be open and talk about their problems because they seek other people's thoughts and views on them to help them see a better way.

Dase • 2 years ago

It's very understandable, everyone handles stress differently and to different degree. I dont like to talk to counsellors myself, and it is requirement where I work, well a yearly requirement lol and especially when we lose a patient, not that I ever lost one, fingers crossed

Mhm, some people dont have many friends or their friends are often too busy to have a chat with, especially when a lot of nurses are former overseas students with family abroad or they recently migrated here, nurses are always in high demand in a lot of countries so immigration is very easy compared with other career
Hmmm maybe I should have gone into pathology like my brother-in-law, he said you dont ever lose patients since you are only diagnosing and you dont get to see them either, but you do get very fat from sitting all day..... well at least he is getting fat lol

vio • 2 years ago

lol during my teens my mother was always on at me about my weight even though I didnt have any eating disorders saying that I need to eat more and even tried to get me to drink some milkshakes that helped to increase body mass. If your mother is anything like mine was then she'd probably be happy his got a little extra meat on him. Also, doesnt pathology deal with cadaver's? Even though you dont lose a patient, having the smell of death around you cant be good.

Dase • 2 years ago

They can but you can just performing biopsy instead of viewing the entire body, which is related to autopsy
So pretty much he looks at petri dishes all day

What you mention is an entirely different topic we were discussing. we werent talking about how a 20+ minutes is aired weekly, we are talking about - popular authors or well known novels getting 25 minutes episodes

Donghuas such as Soul Land, Doupo Cangqiong, Fanren, Wanmei Shijie, Swallowed Star, Lord Eagle Snow, Stellar Transformations comes from popular and well known authors, they rank top novel sales in China and some of them have written several novels, so they usually get the 25 minutes episodes

While Against the Sky Supreme, Wu Shang Shen Di, Shenyi Jiu XIaojie, and other 5-7 minutes episodes are mostly if not all comes from novels that are written by little known authors, by little known I mean not top 20 sales novelists or even top 30, so they get the 5-7 minutes episodes

ASL • 2 years ago

where to read those novel

Dase • 2 years ago

The popular ones? You can try Wuxiaworld, Novelupdates and Novelfull, while the unpopular ones, you will have difficulty in finding them unless you can read Chinese, I go to Qidian

I dont usually read the translated novels since I can read Chinese, but those three are pretty much the big English translated novel sites for Chinese novels

LowJack187 • 8 months ago

I'm a plumer, I'm here to clean your pipes!

These people have alot of time on their hands lol. Don't y'all have cultivation to do or something? Btw what ever happened to the guy that died and wrote the MC's name in blood?

Dase • 2 years ago

This is why their strength is so low :P they spend their time plotting and trying to earn money instead of cultivation
His death wont be discovered by Tan Yun for a while but should be within the next two episodes

Will it rot?

Dase • 2 years ago

Apparently 8 days after Tan Yun left the medicine mountain to go to the markets, they discovered the body within 4 hours of him leaving. the novel never did state the condition of the body. so Tan Yun only found out about Li Ziqian's death when he was returning to the medicine mountain, the next two episode should show this

yourmom420 • 2 years ago

hello human it's all about willpower. first set small goals for yourself and continue to do them. then move on to bigger ones. also don't forget to look in the mirror and say I can do this I got this. also don't forget to complement yourself for the things you do as it builds up confidence and helps to reassure you that you are doing good. so just keep trying and work on these things.

Queen Medusa 💖 • 2 years ago

Ok Thanks Human.

Dase • 2 years ago

yourmom420 Everyone is different, how they handle their work ethics depends on a number of factors, one of which is what @yourmom420 has mentioned, willpower, confidence, your personality, family influences, set goals also reflects on how you go about in your life.I am not a counselor or a psychiatrist or in any psychological profession a word of disclaimer, my advice is not to be taken professionally, it is based on my own experiences.
I grew up in a very strict environment, (Asian parents lol) they had very high expectation of me and my siblings, and I mean very high, I didnt have gaming consoles, video games or cartoon when I was growing up, the pc we had was for study only, so that laid the foundation to what I was expected of, I wasnt perfect, and I was told that it was alright not being perfect, just to do my very best and not to disappoint myself, my parents strict as they were, are loving parents, they guided me into becoming what I am, they made me feel failure were bad, only they were to learn from, they never put me down when I didnt do well, only that if I did my best that is enough. I strove not to disappoint myself in turn I tried not to disappoint my parents, they never once said I disappointed them even when arguing with them, or having a someone that they dont approve lol, they are very protective
I guess if you have a set goal, no matter how big or small it is, then you can make plans into achieving that goal, the more effort you put into it, the better the success rate will be, but always remember, nothing in life always goes our way and failures are to be learned from
A monk once told me this. your goal is like your bed, you wake up and your bed is in a mess, how you go about your day is like how you tidy up your bed, if your life is messy, then start the day by tidying the corner of your bed, then work slowly in straightening the blanket and mattress and end it with the pillow. Anyone can tidy up the pillow, but takes more effort to make the entire bed tidy and he meant tidying the bed like how you would see in a hotel
